No Easter Eggs For Dogs

Dog Easter EggsAs it’s Good Friday, I’m a little busy today because as usual I haven’t bought any Easter eggs yet and I need to find a Transformers Easter egg for someone… (do they do Transformers Easter eggs?!?) and of course I need an Easter egg for my beloved dog.

Anyway, I thought it best to remind everyone of that article we wrote some time ago about why dogs shouldn’t eat chocolate. So when you’re all scoffing your Easter eggs on Sunday (unless you’re a friend of mine, in which case you might have to wait a little longer), do NOT give any to the dog and please, please do watch the kids for giving little treats of chocolate when you’re not looking.

If you really want to get the dog his own Easter egg, then Read the rest of this entry »

Dog Food: Does A Premium Price Mean Premium Food?

Dog FoodI don’t feed my dog a premium dog food, but often wonder whether I should and is it worth the extra price?  Then I think probably not but I’ll consider switching to a premium food when she’s older and I think it may be more important then.

Whenever you go to the vets, they always stock at least one premium brand.  You would hope that they have a detailed nutritional knowledge of all the brands they stock and that this, combined with their knowledge of your pets medical history, should enable them to recommend the right food for your dog.

Not all premium dog food is Read the rest of this entry »

Can A Dog Keep A Cat Out of Your Garden?

Being a dog lover, I couldn’t really go along with the ‘buy a cat’ idea, besides, I’m not sure Bailey would approve.

In fact, you would have thought that simply by owning a dog, I may have resolved Read the rest of this entry »

Scandal At Crufts

giant schnauzer philippe cruftsIt seems last weeks bookie fears were unfounded.  Prior to the show, there was a huge influx of bets on one particular dog to win the Best in Show.  This was suspicious partly because the bets were on a dog in the utility section – a section that rarely wins the Best in Show.  To make the bets even more suspicious Read the rest of this entry »
