Dog Tags & Collars Essential
I’m starting this blog off with a New Year reminder to check the details on your dog collars and tags.
I was out walking my shih tzu yesterday when I was stopped by a lady and her family in a car. They’d found an obviously loved and well-looked after shih tzu wandering the streets and had tried to call the number on the tag, but it was unobtainable. She asked me if I knew anyone local who had a shih tzu. I knew two, but it wasn’t their dog.
Luckily for the owner, at least this family were taking the dog to their local police station and intended getting her scanned for a microchip, but I wonder if they’ll find one. For someone who obviously looks after their dog, it would be a shame if they never saw their pet again simply because they changed their phone number and forgot to get a new dog tag.
