Simon Cowell To Leave Millions To Dogs
On Friday, I posted an article about how real estate property magnet Ms Leona Helmsley has left billions to dogs in her will.
That may sound madness to some people, but it’s certainly more common than you might think and something that many rich people do, unwilling to leave their fortune to ‘greedy humans’.
In an article last year with the News of the World, TV’s Mr Nasty of X Factor and Pop Idol fame, Simon Cowell told them that when he dies he may well leave the bulk of his fortune to his dogs too. Simon Cowell’s fortune, as you can imagine, is in the region of £200 million. He said:
“I’ll probably leave the lot to the animals. There’ll be some very rich poodles in Beverly Hills.”
Later, Cowell apparently said he was joking, however, he did confirm he was reluctant to leave his fortune to any humans, because a sudden increase in wealth can destroy people. He said:
“If I had made money when I was 21, I’d probably be dead by now. I wouldn’t have made 22. I would have gone crazy.”
Who knows if he was joking or what, or what his final will might be, but regardless I certainly hope he leaves the bulk to charity, and doesn’t forget the dogs. After all, dogs will never love you just for your money.
