The Dog Isn’t As Stupid As You’d Think
I’ve had shih tzu’s since I was about ten years old, and got all the usual jokes… crossing a shih tzu with a bull dog… yeah yeah haven’t heard that one before! But I remember when one of the national newspapers, I think it might have been the Daily Mail, published a list of the world’s top 100 most intelligent dogs and the shih tzu came in at a right royal number 98, boy did I suffer!
Anyway, it’s all lies! Shih tzu’s are incredibly clever – they just act thick when it suits them! In fact, I reckon many dogs do this – look at this picture, see how the clever dogs are conspiring together. Well, my Bailey can get up there all on her own. She can move chairs, climb on top of cages, open cage doors and empty a washing machine – if she was any smaller she could probably be a real houdini too.
Luckily for me, it’s only at my mum’s house that she feels the need to partake in these ‘naughty but clever’ activities. It does mean everything has to be locked away and pushed to the back of the kitchen counter for every dogsit though, which makes asking her to dogsit a little more challenging. Hence I think it’s all part of Bailey’s evil plan to keep me indoors and amusing her!
