Winter Begins

This week, the weather has been awful.  It seems as soon as the clocks went back, the heavens opened and since then we have had nothing but rain and snow.  With weather like this, I prefer to stay in, put the fire on and watch my little dog settle down in front of the fireplace and chill out.  In fact, one of my favourite photos of my shih tzu is of her lying in front of a fireplace, gazing into the flames.  It’s like something off a Christmas card.

It is times like these when it is difficult to leave your four legged best friend behind in the morning, or even to get out of bed at all, so why not take this time to have a week away on a dog friendly holiday?

According to easier.com Travel, one of the best places for a dog friendly holiday is Dorset.  With national parks and beaches, I’m sure it’s great in the summer but what about in the winter?

They sold me with the idea of Cobweb Cottage in Winfrith Newburgh, which welcomes dogs and not only that, but it could be like home from home with a great inglenook fireplace for your dog to settle in front of.  I know my dog is happy wherever she is if there’s a nice great warm fire to curl up in front of.

There are plenty of dog friendly cottages all over the UK (both with and without the real fireplace), so a week away could do both you and your best friend some good.
